For this task we were assigned to create our own Chindogu ideas and illustrations. These ideas was influenced from researching different images from Pinterest and the web to get a solid understanding of how to form the product. My idea was to merge the 2 objects, a jacket and a backpack together to create a arms free storage unit with ease. Its designed so there’s no straps to the product making it less irritating for the user to move around and easier to carry larger objects. By putting items with the back unit, it should also help out to straighten the back improving posture. The down side to this product would be depending on the size of the jacket because the storage amount would differ. To improve on this task I would of had to create more of a useless side to this product making it fit into the the Chindogu category.
What does Chindogu mean?
Chindōgu (珍道具) is the Japanese art of inventing ingenious everyday gadgets that seem like an ideal solution to a particular problem, but are in fact useless.
