This is one of my main influences that I chose because of the impact that it had on me growing up. I use to create and illustrate comic books with all sorts of characters with my friend, inspired by DC comic work and layouts. I have chosen this comic, “The Flash” specifically as I use to read them in my own time, enjoying every page. Artwork presented within these comics are very illustrative in each scene with lots of vibrant colours at times, this makes the illustration more bold and appealing in my opinion.

Reading Manga and reviewing the different types of illustrated art works and scenes helped me out also. It gave me a solid understanding on how to express emotion with out coloured elements, involving them into mainly the detail of the imagery and the formation of the words laid out.

Artist & Artwork:
As far as artwork work goes, I have always been a massive fan of surrealism and expressionism. Being massively influenced by the artist; Rene Magritte, Lisa Wright and Odilon Redon. Rene’s thoughts and ideas to construct his figures fuel me with inspiration, one of his artworks “The Lovers” has had a huge impact throughout my own artwork in relation to the concept of the piece. All of the figures in my artwork are performing positive gestures using body language to show a sign of respect this then turns negatively as their faces are concealed blocking all eye contact.
Surrealism is something that I enjoy doing, I prefer this movement over all because I am able to express my emotions and build a form of artwork that I can connect with.
