Initial Ideas:

My idea is to create a human and shark hybrid, which is based in the 9 Century Viking era.

He’s a Viking that shouldn’t be trusted, likes to steal treasures and claim lands with his sea crew full of mutated shark people like himself. Wars have been fought between the Vikings of the land and sea after a series of hunting and polluting events, their leader believes that it’s time for a change. The sea creatures must rise up and defend themselves, claiming lands and taking back what’s rightfully theirs with revenge.

– Humans have hunted and slaughtered their kind for food.
– Vikings hunt them mainly on long ships
– The sharks have gained armour and weapons from some of the vikings they have faced.
– These sharks travel in groups/packs

Both of these designs differ in their own ways strongly, I tried to make one based on a great white and the other a hammerhead. The Great white character would be more of an attacker in my opinion, having fast moves and more agile attacks than the hammerhead. In the crew of sharks, he would most likely be placed in the middle of defences ready to charge when broken. For the Hammerhead, I made the design look more bulky and stocky like a tank. This character would be at the very front of the defences with a shield ready to block and fend off any attacks that approach. Comparing both shark designs together, I’d say the most evolved creature to a human would be the great white as I’ve made it have more humanly features than the Hammerhead. I did this specifically because I wanted the Hammerhead to seem like it’s still evolving, making the Hammerheads skin still tough like a shark than the Great White. ( Leaning towards making the Hammerhead )
