For my subject I’d like to focus more on fiction, creating a poster in promotion for a new comic series. The comic is about heroes travelling throughout time, facing villains and all sorts along the way. To create this conceptual, I could probably combine a couple of features about time itself with my own comic imagery to make the poster.
Here’s an example of conceptual poster art for the comic con release of Godzilla. The imagery within this poster shows a broken building surrounded by rubble in the form of the monster, looking distinctively menacing bolding in the top centre of the page. A heavy red is used for the background and some of the text of this poster, the red seems to work well on top of the dark colours. Red could normally mean a sense of danger in an image or anger, this implies that something extreme happened to the buildings, most probably destroyed by the monster.

I like the concept of time shown in this artwork. Time is shown in the form of an hourglass with the sand falling to the bottom, the top is represented as the present day and the bottom is what is left behind over time. I could probably take some inspiration from this with my own poster by developing some sort of imagery to represent time travelling or moving in a way as an hourglass.

Here an old fashioned steam train has created a growing spiral to the image which forms the shape of a clock with the numbers looping around after the tracks. Scattered across these tracks are transportation milestones that have been made throughout history, leading towards the present.
