This week we had to combined ideas in the chosen subject area, to start I began to develop two mind maps separating both ideas to generate words associated with the theme. One category is the Comic side and the other about Time.
Below I have presented a few more sketches that relate to time in mostly idiom form. By creating a variety of these, I am hoping to achieve an illustration that creates more mean than time itself to be added to my poster.
Here are some poster drafts roughly sketched. These are some ideas of how I could combine time elements into my imagery, for example, the first one is the planet earth in the form of a clock spinning.
After I sketched out the small drafts of poster ideas, I chose my favourite one out of the 4, being the first design. This design was then roughly developed further with added colour and more imagery to create a layout of where everything could be positioned for my final poster idea.
I have chosen this design because I like the concept of time travelling across the world clock, as the two characters chase along with the hand, one side of the clock turns brown and dull. This is made to represent the past, the red character is trying to run away and escape from the green. I added a book floating underneath the centre image to show the story coming to life, producing a soft light glow. At the bottom right corner of the poster, I have added the logo of the comic that I created to show a bit of professionalism and branding. The typography used here is basic as a draft with highlighted keywords explain a little about what the story could be about.
