For my character of choice, I have decided to branch off from the great white and focus more on the hammerhead sketches.

Brief Description:

Time Period – 9th Century

He’s a Viking that shouldn’t be trusted, likes to steal treasures and claim lands with his sea crew full of mutated shark people like himself. Wars have been fought between the Vikings of the land and sea after a series of hunting and polluting events, their leader believes that it’s time for a change. The sea creatures must rise up and defend themselves, claiming lands and taking back what’s rightfully theirs with revenge. This shark specifically is still evolving, he’s more of a defensive troop because of his large size and mass, mainly shielding others from attacks with his shield and tough skin. That’s also how he gained the name Uknuselig, the Norwegian word for unbreakable. Since Uknuselig is still evolving to the surface, he contains more shark features than the others in his crew, which also means that his behaviour is very primitive.

  • – Humans have hunted and slaughtered their kind for food.
  • – The sharks have gained armour and weapons from some of the Vikings they have faced.
  • – Vikings hunt them mainly on longships
  • – These sharks travel in groups/packs

These 2 Hammerhead shark images are going to be my main reference when adding the shark features and textures to the body. I would like the character to have the same skin tones as the shark, keeping the head structure slightly the same, altered to fit a stocky body structure.

The fins and tail are going to be included within the model also, so I gathered this side view to learn the correct positioning of each fin and to start to think about how to alter the features.

There are a few different key features I could use in this image to help me build the body of my character. The way mass is added to create strength within the character or even just the designs of the weapons and equipment. I’m most likely doing to use this reference image the most as it gives me a rough idea of what to sketch and where to imagine shark features.

For the main structure and form of the body, I chose this image specifically of a more bulky Viking. I want to capture the strength feature into my characters model, making it look tough, these Viking stocky features will influence my own design/sketches helping me build the character role.
